Evan Gavry: Musician & Instructor

Evan grew up in a musical household - his father, Paul, plays guitar, fiddle, and accordion, and his mother, Marie, fostered his love of great records and lyrics. He studied alto sax from 4th–12th grade, added piano for several years, and later taught himself guitar. Alongside high-school garage bands covering punk, metal, ’90s alt, and classic rock, Evan learned bluegrass, country, and Irish tunes by playing festivals and jams with his dad.

He earned a B.S. in Communication Studies (TV/Radio Production) from Northeastern University and has since built a wide-ranging career in music and event production. Evan mixes live sound, engineers and masters recordings, and has worked across staging, lighting, audio, video, projection, and backline. His experience includes regional tour management, nightclub operations, high-volume venue security, and merchandise at both club and festival levels.

He has designed promotional materials for digital and print, booked shows in New Orleans, Boston, and Albany, and served on the planning committee for the 2014 New England Americana Festival.

Evan Gavry is the type of musician that you want on your side. The guy plays multiple instruments and excels at them all.” - Brian Carroll
